#i’m gonna make this about#because everything is actually about ziam right???#high school au with cute dorky jock!liam and shy quiet nerdy!zayn who wears glasses and sits in the back of the classroom and reads all day#and maybe they’ve both got a crush on the other day but they never say anything about it because they don’t think the other could ever be interested#until they get paired up for a project#and start spending a bunch of time working together and finally talking and getting to know each other#liam finally gets the courage to ask zayn out one day but zayn’s still a bit scared at how close they’ve gotten so fast#and he freaks out and says no#and liam gets all sad and pouty because he was so sure zayn was going to say yes#they don’t talk for a little while and zayn’s worried because he thinks he’s screwed everything up and also because their project is due soon and he desperately needs an a#he goes looking for liam and finds him shooting baskets in the gym#and liam’s just being a petulant sad panda grumpy bear refusing to talk to zayn#and zayn’s getting very very frustrated#until liam’s like okay ‘if i score this next basket you have to go out with me. then we can go work on the project also.’#and okay so basketball isn’t liam’s ~thing~ but he’s also not awful at it#so zayn takes his chance and agrees#and liam doesn’t make it#and he’s all pouty and sad again#throwing himself on the ground and making a big scene in the middle of the gym and being absolutely ridiculous#and he’s just so so dumb and zayn can’t believe how endeared and fond he is of this big loser that everyone thinks is the coolest kid in school#and he’s laughing trying to get liam to stand up and is like ‘okay okay jesus liam fine i’ll go out with you’#and liam’s still laying starfished on the ground but he’s grinning and wide#and he’s like ‘really?’? and zayn rolls his eyes and says ‘yes really’#so they finally go out and they finish their project and zayn’s happy because not only did he get an a but he also got liam (x)
